Lakewood
High School PTA was formed in 1940 to provide a bridge between home
and school. Throughout its history, LHS PTA has facilitated communication
between parents and teachers, recognized the contributions of LHS
faculty, and rewarded the achievements of students. Today, with
nearly 400 members, LHS PTA continues to play an integral role in
the school. Through teacher appreciation and recognition efforts,
scholarship contributions, participation in the Reflections
arts program, publication of Ranger
Roundup, general support, and a host of other activities,
LHS PTA strives to live up to the objectives of National PTA:
- To
promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community,
and place of worship
- To
raise the standards of home life
- To
secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and
youth
- To
bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents
and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children
and youth
- To
develop between educators and the general public such united efforts
as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages
in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education
LHS
