ANNOUNCEMENTS:

BOOK RETURNS – All classroom books will be returned in the Art Gallery. Textbooks are not to be left in classrooms. All textbooks must be turned in to the Art Gallery so that students are not fined for lost books.

COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL – There will be a MANDATORY Commencement Rehearsal for seniors on Friday, June 2nd, at 8:30 a.m. in the Civic Auditorium. You MUST attend this rehearsal to participate in the Commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 4, at 3:00 p.m. in the Civic Auditorium. All seniors should report to the North Gym by 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

FAILURE NOTICES for 9th, 10th, and 11th GRADE STUDENTS - Failure notices must be completed and turned in to the student’s house office by 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8th.

FINAL EXAMS – All students are expected to be in attendance for final exams.

FINAL REPORT SHEETS FOR TEACHERS – Final report sheets will be placed in the teacher mailboxes. Signatures are to be affixed by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8th. Each teacher is to leave his/her grade book, with final grades, in the House Office. This will make it possible for someone to check marks of students if there should be errors through processing. Please label the grades for the last marking period and the final grades. BE CERTAIN YOUR NAME IS ON THE FRONT OF THE GRADE BOOK. House offices will accept completed forms from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. only.

ALTHOUGH TEACHERS’ CHECK-OUT BEGINS AT 2:00, TEACHERS ARE TO REMAIN IN THE BUILDING UNTIL 3:00 ON THURSDAY, JUNE 8TH.

GRADES ARE DUE TO DATA PROCESSING by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8th. Final grades are to be given to all students. Make-up examinations for any students who have extended absence because of illness are to be left, with instructions, with Mrs. Israel. ANY GRADES THAT NEED TO BE HAND-ENTERED SHOULD BE DELIVERED TO DATA PROCESSING PRIOR TO 2:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, JUNE 8TH.

INCOMPLETES – No incompletes are permitted without prior discussion with Mrs. Israel.

LOCKER CLEAN- OUT – Large plastic bags will be available in the House Offices Wednesday morning, May 31st, for locker clean-out and also for covering computers before you leave June 8th.

RETIREMENT PARTY – Please plan on joining us to recognize the Class of 2006 staff retirees and celebrate the end of the school year. Festivities will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the West Cafeteria on Wednesday, June 7th..

SENIOR BREAKFAST – The Senior Breakfast will be held at St. Gregory’s Hall, Madison and Cohasset Avenues in Lakewood, on May 30th at 8:00 a.m.

RECYLE FOR A CAUSE GENTLY USED SCHOOL SUPPLY CAMPAIGN - Just in time for cleaning out lockers, desks and backpacks. H2O is sponsoring a city- wide recycling campaign for new and gently used school supplies. Collection containers will be available in the H2-O Office. We are collecting pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils, crayons, glue/glue sticks, rulers, tape, notebook paper, notebooks, scissors, calculators and rulers. Donated items will be cleaned, consolidated and repackaged by H2o Summer Service Camp volunteers and made into Back to School Kits for distribution to students and families through the Lakewood Christian Service Center next fall. Each Homeroom teacher will be given a black garbage bag on locker clean-out day to collect any items that students may no longer need. Donated items can be sent to the H2O Office.

RELAY FOR LIFE – Mark your calendar! The 2006 Relay for Life, Lakewood, Ohio event will take place June 16th and 17th at Lakewood High School. Please email carol.anthony@cancer.org for more information.

SENIOR FAILURE LIST – Tuesday, May 30th, Noon – All teachers must personally deliver to Dr. Wagner’s office the names of seniors who have failed their subject for the year or semester. Information is to be on the “Senior Failure List” that will be provided for this purpose. ALL TEACHERS ARE TO TURN IN A FORM – WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE SENIORS. If you do not have seniors, please indicate “No Seniors” on the form.

SUMMER SCHOOL – Summer School will begin June 15th and brochures will be printed soon. The first session will be June 15 – July 7th (no classes on July 3rd or 4th). The second session is July 10 – July 28th. Click here for more information.

REVISED LHS DRESS CODE - Be sure to check this out before making clothing purchases for the upcoming school year. On June 6, 2005, the Lakewood Board of Education approved a new dress code for LHS. STUDENT CONDUCT AND SCHOOL CLIMATE COMMITTEE REPORT - Be sure to read the recommendations made to the Superintendent on May 10, 2005. They will be implemented during the 2005-2006 school year. The report may be viewed in Word format or pdf format.
