A Message to Parents and Students
The Horace Mann Staff is pleased you will be spending your middle school years with us. These will be years of physical, social and psychological change. Many new experiences await you. We will share moments of great happiness and will support you during the difficult times. You will leave your childhood behind and begin to become a young adult.

The expectations of Horace Mann are high. We take our job, teaching you the concepts and skills necessary to be successful, very seriously. Activities have been planned to make your experiences with us rewarding. In return, we ask that you come to school every day with a willingness to learn, the supplies you need, and a resolve to put forth your best effort.

Each year, we will expect you to assume more responsibility for your learning. At times, this may seem a difficult task. There are many people and programs available at Horace Mann to help you through these challenging times. All you have to do is ask. The amount of your success will be proportionate to the number of opportunities you embrace and the amount of effort you put forth.
