Identify and clear old transactions; delete obsolete patrons; reconcile duplicate patron records; clean up bib and item records with questionable or missing data; remove duplicate titles and bibs with no items; resolve lost, missing, weeded, and in-transit items; and more. A two-hour presentation is followed by hands-on time for you to get some work done without interruptions, with LNOCA staff available for assistance.

Overview of Sirsi reports, primarily those on the INFOhio tab, to include running, scheduling, viewing, and printing reports, as well as creating templates. Familiarize yourself with the frequently used reports for generating overdue lists, overdue notices, circulation statistics, bibliographies, and barcodes, with an emphasis on fine-tuning the output.

Overview of copy cataloging protocol to include: adding, editing, transferring, and removing bibliographic, call number, or item records; copying records from the INFOhio Curriculum Resource Catalog (union catalog), Library of Congress, or OCLC WorldCat using SmartPort. Review of search techniques and matching or evaluating MARC records. Presentation of batch copy and global item modify functionalities in Sirsi Workflows.

Overview of MARC record tags, use of enhanced and derived records, and an emphasis on using the new INFOhio templates for original cataloging; formatting specific (commonly used) tags such as AR and Guided Reading, creative use of item notes (public and staff), and an introduction to aligning resources with academic content standards.
