Course Description:
Overview of copy cataloging protocol to include: adding, editing, transferring, and removing bibliographic, call number, or item records; copying records from the INFOhio Curriculum Resource Catalog (union catalog), Library of Congress, or OCLC WorldCat using SmartPort. Review of search techniques and matching or evaluating MARC records. Presentation of adding batch copies and global item modify functionalities in Sirsi Workflows.

LNOCA staff will be on hand to assist you with generating reports, circulation, cataloging, and anything else you should like to cover. You may stay for an hour or all day depending on your needs.

Overview of MARC record tags, use of enhanced and derived records, and an emphasis on using the INFOhio templates for original cataloging; formatting specific, commonly used tags such as AR and Guided Reading.
Sirsi Database Cleanup

Course Description:
Get away from your building and have the benefit of working at LNOCA without interruptions. A 2-3 hour (approx) presentation will be given on database cleanup. Use the rest of the day for: cleaning up your database, Q&A, running reports, catching up on cataloging, etc. LNOCA staff will be on hand to assist you. Learn how to identify patron record cleanup (obsolete patrons, old transactions, etc) and title/item cleanup (call numbers, lost/missing items, incomplete item records, etc).
